July 1st, 2021: KM 689.3 - 703.6

 (Sydenham 131.4 - 145.7)

Another hike with Chris and Eily yesterday. This one would have been really pleasant if it wasn't for all of the mosquitos and other flies. We were pestered almost constantly, and I personally received an uncountable number of bites.

According to the app, our intended hike (which differed from our books) was 15.58kms long. The entire hike took us under 4 hours.

We were greeted by some friendly cows at the starting spot.

The trail crossed a road and entered some farmers fields. This is where Eily accidentally touched an electric fence (she yelped)

We then passed through Kemble Wetland Nature Reserve.

Most of this hike was through forests with limestone rocks and deep cracks.

Closer to the end, the trail actually enters some of the cracks for short sections

Overall a mixed day (only due to the mosquitoes). Still, Eily had a lot of fun, and it was great to catch up with Chris.
